Giving a gift for farm animals in memory of a loved one is a very special way to honour their life. Through a gift in memory, you can help their kindness and love for animals to continue. We are always extremely humbled and grateful to receive such donations.
There are a number of ways you can support Compassion with a gift in memory:
COLLECT AT A FUNERAL OR MEMORIAL EVENT
Collecting donations at a funeral can help Compassion to make a lasting difference in memory of your loved one. You might choose to do this by asking for donations instead of flowers. You can also hold a collection at Celebration of Life services and memorial events.
Our collection envelopes tell people a little about Compassion in World Farming, enable people to give confidentially if they wish, and allow them to add Gift Aid – increasing each donation by £2.50 for every £10 donated at no cost to them.
Our Compassion pin badges are a lovely thank you and memento and can be a nice token for close family members to wear on the day of the memorial event.
You can order In Memory envelopes by calling us, or by emailing us at InMemory@ciwf.org
Alternatively, if you prefer to organise a cash collection in memory of a loved one, we can offer information leaflets for you to share, and would be honoured to receive the proceeds via a card payment over the phone, or by cheque in the post.

TURNING MEMORIES INTO SUPPORT FOR FARM ANIMALS
Lifelong Compassion supporters, John and Betty Edwards, shared a love of animals and outdoor life. Their daughter, Rebecca, remembers the day her father came home from his work on a farm with a tiny piglet who the family adopted and raised. That was the start of many animals joining their family and Rebecca has fond memories of a happy home, full of rescued wildlife and fostered farm animals.
Betty abhorred any sort of animal cruelty and spent much of her spare time raising money for charities she felt really helped animals. Over the years, she raised valuable funds for Compassion from car boot sales and high street collections.
When John passed away, Betty asked friends and family to make a donation to Compassion instead of sending flowers. And when Betty sadly died in 2015, her family kindly decided to commemorate her life in the same way.
We are so grateful that, through these poignant gifts, Betty and John’s family turned their memories into support for animals.
