Alain Boissy is a senior scientist at the French National Institute for Agricultural Research, INRA. He has 30 years of experience in research on farm animal behaviour and welfare. His research focuses on the emotional and cognitive processes that influence the animal experiences its environment and its welfare state. Alain is the leader of the French scientific network AgriBEA managing research on welfare in farm animals and currently involving 170 members. He has published more than 150 scientific papers and book chapters.
